Default The bots are talkative...

I found this scene in the int district of Droks:

What was going on? Are those bots? They were all spamming Chinese or something like crazy; the convrsations my guild was having got pushed off the top in seconds. They weren't all Mo/Ws either, you can see a Warrior doing it...

Well... I heard there are bots that do tradeing with you as well, never cared to try. My guess it's just weird asians that keep spamming all that for some extra cash like everyone does in America hot sell spots...

From what I see in the screenshot, all of these are WTB messages. Taking a closer look at some of these spams, these translates to:

-Buying some keys for 400g
-Buying gold armor (probably unidentified) for 2.1k (from 2 different persons)
-WTB some big teeth
-Paying lots for weapons, materials, and big teeth
-Will pay big for dual attribute good shield
-1 of them speaking in pinyin... meh I speak cantonese and pinyin is hard to read
-WTB WTB WTB
-WTB black knife (?), shining bow (?), shining axe (?), some keys for 420g

A while ago I decided to have fun, one of them are spamming WTB gold weapons (in simplified chinese of course). I tried opening a trade window, and he accepted to trade. I offered offered some crappy max damage long swords with something like +6 to elemental attacks and +14% dmg while hp < 50%. After a few seconds, he closed the trade window immediately.

And note: no, they're not trying to sell something, they're trying to buy something.

Why assume it's bots? It could be just Chinese people selling stuff. Its the same in LA D1, Kan Center D1, everywhere, not just international.

Those aren't bots. The bots farm, but it takes real people to buy/sell. They may be the same toons that the bots use, but people get behind the wheel to trade.

hmm... BIG TEETH? The int dist of droks can be very harsh. Im not sure it would be bots, but maybe auto typers, could just be the people themselves, but ive seen people there for hours saying the same thing

Thanks for the translation. I visited there not long ago and noticed the same thing. I always assumed it was a bunch of Chinese players complaining about the bots, much like you see in the American districts of Elona Reach. Hmm.

Kind of interesting that ANet's trade spam filter doesn't apply here. I guess the Chinese don't complain like we do.

That guy wanting to buy keys is using a spambot .-. Thats why theres a sequential number on the messages.

Anyone else sick of people assuming that if you're asian in an international or american district then you're automatically a bot?

I'm not asian and even I'm sick of that assumption.

Face it, there are more Asian bots than any other type. And Asians are associated with "nike sweat shops" aka people pay them to farm GW all day. It is a harsh reality, but that only goes on in Asia. So all bots are Asian but not all Asians are bots is how I take this, but we are all open to our own opinions.

Please no flaming.
